Healthier Orange Chicken Homemade



You can enjoy the tasty flavors of orange chicken with a quick and easy homemade version that is better for you.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish optional

Instructions:

In a bowl, toss chicken pieces with cornstarch until coated

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat

Add chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes

In a separate bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil

Pour sauce over cooked chicken in the skillet

Simmer for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens

Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired

Serve hot over rice or noodles
